Class A Refurbished Computers

What You Should Expect
The computer you receive will be a Class A refurbished computer so it should look not more than slightly used and work fautlessly. Each computer is tested and check thoroughly (you will receive the Technical Quality Control sign-off sheet for your computer), but sometimes a refurbished computer can pass with flying colors and then have problems when they arrive.
Your computer will come with a set of instructions to help you thoroughly test your computer right away. Be sure to check your computer right away and call or email us immediately if there are any issues so we can resolve them or replace your computer. This includes damage due to shipping.

If you are missing anything or something doesn’t seem to be working just right – call or email us immediately. We will help you through any issues and replace anything that isn’t working within our 90 day warranty.

iFoster is here to make sure you are comfortable with your computer, surfing the Internet and getting the most out of the digital world whether that is learning basic computer skills, using iFoster's online discount program, getting help researching a school report, filing out applications or learning to navigate safely on Facebook. We provide support in three ways:
  1. Visit our website's iLearn section to get great tutorials, videos and interactive trainings on Computer Basics, Using Microsoft Software, Internet Basics and our Best of the Web listing of great websites. You can also find the full user manuals for your computers here too.
  2. Post a question on Ask an Expert and one of our technical support will post an answer. This way the entire community learns.

No question is too basic and so far no question is too hard. There is no limit to the number of times you call and support is for as long as you are an iFoster member.

Warranty and Returns

Warranty

Every refurbished computer comes with a 90 day (from the day of shipping) warranty for full replacement if the hardware fails. Our partner, CDI refurbishes and sends out thousands of computers a month. They have a less than 2% hardware failure rate. However, should you have a hardware failure within your first 90 days, please follow our warranty and return guidelines outlined below.

Warrantied Service
Warranty cards are shipped with every computer. Requirements for warranty service is a dated sales receipt and the warranty card that comes with the unit. Serial number must match.

What to do when service is needed:
a. Contact iFoster at

b. If iFoster determines your computer needs to be replaced, a return shipping label will be emailed to you.

c. Print off the label.

d. Package equipment back in its original carton or box, or equivalent, properly packed to withstand the hazards of shipment and be fully insured.

e. Inside the package, please include 1) copy of your sales receipt, 2) copy of the warranty card with model and serial number, 3) note with a description of the problem

f. Have box picked up or take to the appropriate shipper (UPS, Fed Ex, USPS).

g. A new equivalent or better computer (either laptop or desktop depending on your original order) will be shipped out to you once your equipment has been received and the hardware failure confirmed.

NOTE: For damage resulting during shipping to you, please make sure you make an immediate claim and have it examined by the shipper. (Often, you can refuse delivery due to damage and have it shipped back automatically)
